button Very nice coat sized Georgia State Seal button.
Dug in Central Virginia. The high dome front is perfect, has a stand up shank, and a dm back mark that reads, Horstmann and Allien/N Y.

button Very Nice North Carolina Sunburst.
This coat sized button was dug in Central Virginia (North Anna River) on May 3, 2015. This Civil War relic shows lots of silver wash and is in excellent dug condition with "N C" being very legible and all details prominent. As always on these dug North Carolinas of this type, the shank is gone. This is an unusually good and solid button that will shine in any collection from a Confederate State that gave all she had.

This button was dug near Culpeper Virginia. It has quite a lot of gilt, as stand up shank, and a dm back mark that reads Horstmann & Allien. No pushes, dings or repairs.

This button is in fair condition, and has some rose gold remaining. The shank is intact, but bent as shown in the picture. Back mark is Extra Fine Gilt.

This 14mm South Carolina button was recovered in Richmond, Virginia. It shows good detail with some silver wash still present. The stand up shank remains present and erect, though the back mark is not legible.

This coat sized Virginia button was recovered near Richmond, Virginia. It shows fair detail and has a rmdc "Schuyler H & G/ N York" backmark. The shank is missing, but this is a good solid artifact recovered at the Capitol of the Confederacy.

button Magnificent Volunteer Corps (AVC) button (coat sized).
This coat sized button was dug in Alabama near the University of Alabama. Lots of gilt and a stand up shank, this is a good and solid button. The rmdc bm is Scovill Mfg CO. Waterbury.

button Ultra Rare Confederate Mississippi "SOUTHRONS" button (coat sized).
This coat sized button was made before the war by Scovill Mfg. Co. for the Mississippi "SOUTHRONS" Regiment that later became Company A of the 21st. Mississippi Infantry. The face has a significant push, as shown in the picture . The Scovill back mark is clear and easy to read, the laid down shank is present and there's a push in the back of the button, as well. This is a very rare button and will display beautifully. It was found in Tennessee about fifty years ago and is very solid overall with no issues other than as highlighted here. Great gold-green patina over all.

button Confederate North Carolina Sun Burst button, a.k.a. Star Burst (coat sized).
This is a one piece local confederate button that was of poor construction quality and the shanks were notorious for popping off, leading to thousands being lost and now found. This nice coat size button was legally found near Carolina Beach, N.C. many years ago. This is a much rarer NC button, Tice's eight ray NC design, and a partial shank remains. Very good and solid button.

This coat sized button was recovered in Central Virginia. The shank is intact as shown in the picture, and it has a Horstmann back mark.

button Confederate B.C.G button.
This coat sized (B.C.G) Baltimore City Guard button was excavated in Petersburg, Virginia. It does have a significant push on the front and the shank is bent to one side, nontheless it is still a solid relic. Your purchase includes the button beautifully displayed in a Sgt. Riker case as shown in the picture.

These buttons are in good condition. One is coat sized and one is cuff sized. The coat sized button has a back mark that reads Ives Kendrick & Co. Extra. The cuff sized back mark is illegible.

This is an excavated, coat sized button. It is very solid with pretty highlights of gilt That makes Virtus stand out like the goddess she is. The stand up shank is surrounded by an rmdc back mark that reads Scovill Mf'g Co. Waterbury. Albert's VA7 and Tice's VA215A5. Quite a bit of ground action on this one.

This is an excavated Georgia Button in great condition, though sprayed with something like acrylic. This one has a dm Horstmann NY back mark and a perfect stand up shank. This is a very solid button, and probably never had any gilt. Albert's GA4 and Tice's GA206A1. Magnification will show some pitting especially on the back.
